Personally to me it has an almost vintage kind of feel to it, which I really like. You captured the "Imma gonna get chu!" feeling the cat presents and the cute playfulness as well.  Love it! -- I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying that I approved of it.    adorable kitteh~!

Critiques
I like the way the eye is lead down to the kitten from the top by following the tail (that shows so much of what the kitten is feeling). I also like the patterns in the foreground on the wood floor leading to the kitten's claws.
You can almost hear the rustle of the newspaper as he/she is hopping, scooting and sliding on top of it.
Last the sharp clearity of the image gives the viewer a wonderful view of the kitten's eyes and you can almost read it's little mind as it looks at the floor and says
"where did the paper go?"
